چکیده

The effects of 0 M, 10 M and 10 M salicylic acid (SA) applied by three different modes (seed treatment, seed treatment plus foliar spray and foliar spray) in four pea (Pisum sativum L.) varieties viz., Meteor, Climax, Greenfeast and Rondo were evaluated. Among the varieties the highest green pod yield of 5255 Kg ha was obtained in variety Meteor followed by variety Greenfeast (4452 Kg ha). The maximum increase in all the yield and yield components was observed in the pea plants treated with SA concentration 10 M over SA 10 M and SA 0 M. Moreover the increase in the yield and yield components was more pronounced in the plants that received the SA twice (seed treatment and foliar spray) at two different stages of development.

Changes in growth, chlorophyll content and grain yield of Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) in response to water stress, chemical and biological fertilizers and salicylic acid

Salicylic acid (SA) is a phyto-hormone that regulates physiological and biological processes in plants and can be used to improve plant growth under different environmental conditions, including water stress. Thus, a field experiment as split plot factorial based on randomized complete blocks design with three replications was conducted in 2014 to investigate the effects of fertilizer and salic...

Role of nitrogen content of pea (Pisum sativum L.) on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) establishment

The leaf nitrogen content is generally accepted as an indicator of food quality and as a factor affecting host selection by phytophagous insects. The alate pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris, Aphididae) were given a choice among non-nodulated pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) supplied with one of four nitrate-N levels (0, 3, 15 and 30 mM). When whole plants were exposed to aphids for 7 days, th...

پاسخ رشد و عملکرد نخود ‌‌فرنگی(Pisum sativum) به اثر بقایای کودهای آلی و اوره در کشت قبلی

Application of organic manure in organic farming and long-term mineralization may lead to residual effects on the succeeding crop. So, residual effects of combined cattle manure and urea fertilizer of previous crop (black cumin) on growth and yield of pea were examined in a randomized complete block design. Treatments included of  cattle manure (CM), urea (U), three ratios of CM+U full dose app...

Response of pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) to phosphorus levels and humic acid levels

Two field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of phosphorus level and humic acid on pea (Pisum sativum L.) yield quantity and quality, under drip irrigation system, during 2011 and 2012 seasons. Experiments were carried out in the Research and Production Station, National Research Centre, El-Nobaria Site, Beheara Governorate, Delta Egypt. Phosphorus fertilizer was applied at rate...
